Prekärotopia is a contemporary Singspiel. Singspiel is a German term for a music drama or minor opera. The artists Beate Engl, Leonie Felle and Franka Kaßner a.k.a. Speaker, Poupée and Trickster lead a life between dance number and wrecking ball in the system of Prekärotopia. The play's dramaturgy is defined by abrupt and drastic shifts: from individual isolation to the euphoric embrace of solidarity; from the firm belief in the possibility of change to a revolution without resolution. The question of whether collective action is possible connects the narrative and the three artists' real-world collaboration. Engl, Felle and Kaßner design and build all sculptures and musical instruments for the play, and also compose, write, and perform the songs.
On three evenings the artists will perform the Singspiel and Prekärotopia will spring to life.
