EMAC in Munich from 6th to 10th of July 2014
The European Museum Advisors Conference (EMAC) 2014 was organized by the Bavarian State Office for the Museums (Landesstelle für die nichtstaatlichen Museen in Bayern). It took place in Munich from 6th - 10th July 2014.
Over 70 colleagues from 16 european countries participated in the EMAC 2014. Our conference programme informs you about the five-day conference with presentations, discussions and excursions to interesting museums in Munich and Bavaria.
The title of the conference was “Museum Work – Working for Museums”. The main accent in EMAC 2014 was on the practical side of work in museums and the consequences this has on the work of museumadvisors throughout Europe. The conference also included presentations on new projects in the museum field all over Europe.
The conference language was English.
The EMAC 2014 addressed to all European professionals working within museum support organisations – for example ministries, cultural departments, cultural associations, training centres, foundations, advisory institutions, public consultants and independent advisors. EMAC sets itself as an occasion for exchange on museology topics. The previous conferences were held in 2012 in Lisboa, Portugal, in 2010 in Helsinki, Finland and 2008 in Graz, Austria. EMAC exists since 1991, when the first conference was held in Newcastle upon Tyne, Great Britain.
We are looking forward to the next EMAC in 2016!
